Cursor offers a free year of Pro for eligible students.
Who is eligible for the student discount?
You must have a .edu email address and an individual Cursor account (not a team member).
How do I apply for the student discount?
- Sign in to Cursor with your .edu email address
- Go to cursor.com/dashboard
- Find the Student Verification section
- Complete verification through SheerID (Cursor's third-party verification partner)
What if I'm a student without a .edu email?
Only .edu email addresses qualify. There are no exceptions for other academic email domains.
What if SheerID can't verify me?
Verification issues should be directed to SheerID support, as they manage the verification process independently.
Can I transfer my student discount to another account?
No. Student verification is one-time per email and cannot be transferred.
What happens after the student discount year ends?
Your Pro subscription continues at the regular $20/month rate unless you cancel.
